Where an organisation proposes to make between 20-99 employees redundant, the law places a duty upon it to consult collectively with a recognised trade union or elected employee representatives. Such collective consultation must be completed before notice of dismissal is given to any of the employees concerned and it must be meaningful; it is not enough only to inform. This workshop gives employee representatives the skills and knowledge to carry out their role properly. Half day.
Covers:
- the duty to consult and inform?
- legal framework
- the process
- how to be an effective participant
- key skills
Role plays are used throughout this workshop.

Testimonials
See all...As a small business owner the rules and regulations surrounding HR can be both daunting and time consuming. In 2016 we decided to seek help and employ the services of Kate Russell of Russell HR Consulting. Kate’s expert knowledge enabled us to make sure all our employment law documentation was correct and we also decided to pay for Kate’s advice on a ongoing basis should any employee disciplinary matters arise. Needless to say issues to happen from time to time and it is a great peace of mind to be able to pick up the phone to Kate for advice in any given set of circumstances to enable us to carry out the correct procedures. I would highly recommend Russell HR Consulting.
