Managing redundancy for employee representatives

Where an organisation proposes to make between 20-99 employees redundant, the law places a duty upon it to consult collectively with a recognised trade union or elected employee representatives. Such collective consultation must be completed before notice of dismissal is given to any of the employees concerned and it must be meaningful; it is not enough only to inform. This workshop gives employee representatives the skills and knowledge to carry out their role properly. Half day.

Covers:

  • the duty to consult and inform?
  • legal framework
  • the process
  • how to be an effective participant
  • key skills

Role plays are used throughout this workshop.

Testimonials

For a small business like ours, it’s easy to fall behind with the changes in employment law. Russell HR Consulting keep us up to speed, and really make dealing with personnel matters simple. Knowing that their expertise is always there and that they will get back to us promptly gives us the confidence to get on and deal with HR problems before they become too serious, so that we can get on with running the company itself.
